Innoslate Foundation
Part 1

Part 1
Part 1 of Innoslate Foundation is designed for complete beginners with Innoslate and is a pre-requisite to Part 2.
This course gets you up and running by walking you through creating your Innoslate account, and signing in for the first time. You will then be guided around the main dashboard and menus so you can confidently navigate organizations and projects and know exactly where to find core capabilities such as requirements management, modelling, and collaboration tools. By the end of this module, you will feel comfortable logging in, orienting yourself in the interface, and accessing the key features you will use throughout Part 2 of the course.
This course includes approximately 200mins of tutorial video with simple exercises using Innoslate plus some short multiple choice assessment. The course can be completed with flexibility on demand and will typically take between 1 and 2 days to complete.

By the end of Part 1, learners will be able to:

  • Create and access an Innoslate account, including selecting the appropriate environment (Cloud, GovCloud, or Enterprise) and successfully logging in for the first time.
  • Navigate the Innoslate interface confidently, including moving between organizations and projects from the main dashboard.
  • Identify and use the global navigation menus to locate core capability areas such as requirements management, modelling/diagrams, project management views, and collaboration features.
  • Describe the purpose of the key workspaces they will use in later modules (e.g. document views for requirements, diagramming areas for models, and basic project tracking views).
  • Demonstrate basic comfort finding help resources and support options from within the Innoslate environment so they can self-serve when they get stuck.

Why should I take this course?

This course is essential for those wishing to build their MBSE experience and become proficient in the application and use of Innoslate.
Following on from the LML Foundation course Innoslate Foundation Part 1 is a pre-requisite to Innoslate Foundation Part 2.

Learning paths

This course gives you hands‑on experience with a recognised MBSE and requirements management tool, which strengthens your profile for systems and project engineering roles that demand model‑based ways of working.
You build practical, demonstrable skills (account setup, navigation, accessing key workspaces) that you can talk about in CVs, interviews, and promotion cases as evidence of readiness to work in modern, tool‑enabled engineering environments.
Completing the course signals that you are proactively investing in high‑value digital engineering skills, which is linked in research to higher perceived employability and career satisfaction.
Using Innoslate confidently helps you position yourself as an engineer who not only understands systems thinking, but can also operationalise it in a full‑lifecycle MBSE platform.
It gives you concrete stories and examples you can share on LinkedIn, in portfolios, or in content you create, reinforcing a brand around rigour, traceability, and modern engineering practice.
As you apply the course, you clarify the niche you stand for (e.g. “MBSE practitioner who can connect requirements, architecture, and project controls in one environment”), which is exactly what strong personal brands do: focus and differentiate.prosper.liverpool+1
This course is a practical starting point that makes the Innoslate environment feel familiar, so future learning on requirements analysis, modelling, trade studies, or verification can focus on concepts rather than “which button do I click?”.
It fits naturally into a broader learning path in systems engineering and MBSE: first get comfortable in the tool, then layer on advanced topics like simulations, impact analysis, and integrated project management.
By building from a solid foundation, you reduce friction and frustration later, making it more likely you will stick with and apply MBSE practices consistently in real projects.
